Stuff like this is why I love this community. Much respect.
Not only does it bring me joy to see kindred spirits doing their thing, it makes me feel slightly better about my own tendencies to take everything to 11 . Thanks for sharing all these great pics!

This forum is great agreed. I'm on a truck and a MC forum and they're good but this has far the most ppl jumping in threads with help advice or opinions. ![]() |

I had to take a break from it, everything works perfectly not a code on the scans so this can wait. For now gotta get a few things done with my truck before it gets cold, since it's too big for the garage. This thing always shocks me when I jump on working on it after months of E90, it feels like working on a Terex Titan or something. After a while it feels normal, then when I go back to the E90 it feels like working on a toy. |

Have you looked into windshield adhesive? For some people I heard that when the adhesive cracks or becomes old it can make creaking noises. The noise could come from engine bay too, check engine cover, air filter plastic cover and other plastic bits near the windshield&firewall. Goodluck!

How about having a passenger wear a mechanic’s stethoscope and try touching it in different areas to localize the source?

I know its an old thread, but have you located the noise? I'm struggling with my m3, and for me the sound appeared after lifting the car on one side a lot, and a lot on the other side also, it was heavily tilted both ways, when i changed eninge mounts (sadly used non OEM, so this could be my problem, since with old, fully broken ones had nothing... ) I also had a bolt on the subframe which dint really want to go in so i had to force it in with hella torque.

I didnt read the whole thread, but I want to share some interesting info about dash squeaking noise.
My F25 was sqeaking a lot, to a point people were annoyed on an handfree call. And noise was worst when I used liquid caulking at the top of windshield because I was chasing a water leak. I WAS about to remove the dash. But in the mean time I've changed all shock and brakes on the car. And the noise VANISHED ! The only assumption Ive right now, is the shock tower brace bars were giving hard time to chassis stiffness. This can confirm why when I used liquid caulking the noise was worst. When I removed the braces at the shocks, and retorque it, I ASSUME, this remove the chassis tension that make the dash squeak. other explanation, might be the new struts give stiffness to the towers by pushing up, and change the overall chassis tension. |
