$700 Alibaba exhaust?
Has anyone on here tried this setup from Alibaba? From the pictures it looks like some pretty good quality… it has an actual X pipe which should help with the N54 raspiness, and also has valved mufflers? I kind of want to give it a try but if anyone had sound clips of it it would help.

looks good.
but be ready for small fitment issue, and they surely did not purge the pipe before welding. hit or miss. electric valve might be a bad idea for ali special mufflers. If you have a pneumatic option I would go with this. I personally own a ali muffler with a pneumatic valve. but it was the same supplier as valvetronic, so somewhat good. I really like it |

My current setup has a crossover pipe like this pic, and apparently from what I’ve read online is what gives BMW inline sixes their raspiness. Instead of having a 6-1 manifold, most BMWs have two 3-1 manifolds (except for a few like the N55 for instance which IMO sounds much better than the N54). An x-pipe, while not as good as a true 6-1 manifold does help with the raspiness.
VRSF fixes that with their single 3.5” setup which I really like the sound of, so I wonder how a system with an x-pipe would compare.
