Hey!
I have a 2008 BMW 328i 6 speed manual Coupe. When I had run Flats on it I didn't have this problem now I put four brand new tires on it and if one is low then it shows all of them to be low! It's very strange then I'll air one up and then it's all good and then reset it. Really I would like to get rid of the system altogether what is the best way without pulling up any more warnings, should I just remove all four sensors or is there some type of hack? I do have the BimmerCode app and a very good OBD that has some tire pressure settings as well. Thanks in advance...🙂 Last edited by BimmerGuyHere; 03-29-2026 at 11:59 AM.. |

So the system warns you that a tire is low and goes off when the tire is aired up.. my solution would to keep the tire aired up and keep a perfectly working system.

Lol!!
But why does it show all four to be low I read somewhere it's because it needs to be recalibrated once you put the air in and set with the new values? |

Lots of good info on this... basically converting from TPMS to FTM.

Couldn't I just remove the sensors or code it out with BimmerCode? |

The link i provided has a step by step, one thing you cant do with bimmercode is edit "$2VB option from the Vehicle Order" step.. bimmercode doesn't have vehicle order edits.
Options. Get the pc software or i believe Protools has VO editing for about $200 for full license. Again why would you not want a system to tell you have a tire psi issue? Why run around with a low tire? I would understand if it justed didn't work or was broken but just air up your dam tire! If it leaks, fix it!! Truefully in all the cars i have over the years i would get low tire pressure once a year going from summer to winter with tires that are not leaking. |

You're right I'm just old school back when cars didn't have any of this stuff you looked at a tire and you knew it was low you looked at a brake pad and you knew it was low you didn't need no damn sensor to tell you anything LOL

I know I got rid of the seat belt chime, but is there a way to get rid of that chime sound tone altogether I mean I'm still going to see the warning of low fuel Etc it's just rather loud anyway to code that out get rid of it maybe if I can find it I'll break that little speaker out it's probably in the instrument cluster I'm assuming LOL |

As someone who owns a car with FTM and a car with TPMS, the TPMS system is FAR SUPERIOR to the FTM system. The FTM essentially only goes off when the wheel is nearly scraping on the ground. Because its based on rotational wheel speeds instead of measuring actual tire pressures it is definitely not as accurate.
That being said, how often do you need to air up your tires, because I have probably had the TPMS go off like 3x in my car's nearly 20 year life. I even have aftermarket 19" HRE wheels with lower profile 19" tires and the TPMS system has always worked great. I would suggest you actually fix the tire with the issue with either a properly repaired tire, or a new replacement tire. Or just have your system recalibrated. |
