E92 not starting after FRM removal

Bought my first bmw almost a year ago (e92 320d), has been absolutely perfect until the drivers headlight stopped working, angel eyes still worked though. Replaced ballast as thought that was the issue but the problem still continued. Took it to a friends garage after I did some research and thought must be the FRM so asked them to remove it as I have no clue what I was doing. They first of all removed the body control module thinking that was it (not sure why, think they just hadn’t researched where it was before hand and assumed it was there) then removed the FRM. Then plugged it back in and the car was completely dead, would not start however things like lights and the radio would turn on. The engine will crank but won’t start and the battery has been replaced. FRM was repaired and the car was scanned with ISTA and confirmed the CAS is still working. Really confused what it could be, car has essentially gone into full shut down, wondering if any one has any ideas or has potentially seen an issue like this before?? Thanks!
