Help: 335D Electrical Issue, Dash Lights Blinking, FRM Issue?

Hey Folks,

I recently went to upgrade my CIC display to an upgraded amazon unit. During the install, I left the battery power on since I needed to start the car to move my shifter into reverse so I could remove the OEM headunit.

After completing the install, the car had a low voltage warning, and all of the dash lights start blinking when the key is on and car running, the fuel gauge and tachometer needles also flutter, no power to windows, no power to interior lights, no turn signals.

From what I read, it could be the battery or FRM, I got a new battery, and still the same issue. I also removed the FRM and am sending it to Dudmd to fix it, apparently the FRM might be bricked.

I also tested the old battery, and it was holding 12.6 volts after being charged. Once I put in the new insterstate battery, connected it to the car, it only read 12.0 volts for a brand new battery.

A few questions:

Does a bricked FRM drain ridiculous amounts of power? I don't understand why the voltage is so low for a new battery on the car. There must be an electrical draw somewhere.

If the FRM is bricked, would that prevent the CIC display from coming on, currently I have no CIC, no interior lights, no windows, and the christmas tree of lights dashboard.

Things I've tried:
Replaced battery with new Interstate
Cleaned up a very corroded connection on the battery.
Checked all fuses for FRM, and CIC, all were good.

Any other things I should look for? I'm hoping getting the FRM fixed will resolve all of this

A horrifying thought, but yes, a bricked FRM can cause those issues. Are you sure you checked all 4 fuses for the FRM? The fuse table in the Bentley manual does not list them accurately for the E92 335i, but the wiring diagram does. Don't know about yours.
