New turbos

2007 335xi. I wanted to upgrade my turbos on my n54, but I love the low end torque that the small turbos get. Is there a good set of stock or slightly larger size turbos that will boost my hp while keeping the low spool time? Also, my motor is about 140k and completely solid, could these upgraded low end torque turbos cause problems, or should I be fine? Also, what supporting mods should I get for the potential turbos. I have everything required for the MHD stage 2+ which is currently the tune I am running. Is there anything else I should do preventatively? I’m looking for about 500hp on 93 pump and I track the car pretty regularly. I was looking at 17t/19t. https://norcaldynamics.shop/products...QaAjxXEALw_wcB

For a 500hp goal wanting to maintain as much response as possible then go for some RB Twos.

Otherwise if you're set on China turbos then best to just get them straight from Aliexpress and skip the markup from the reseller.

I don't have upgraded turbos... but based on everything I have seen over the years there appears to be 2 really solid options.

RB Turbos
Pure Turbos (not the pure600s)

RB seems to make the best twin turbo setups out there. Followed by Pure Turbo, with the exception of the Pure600 which are designed to compete with the eBay turbos out there.

Its getting close to the time for me to replace mine, when I do, I am going to be going with the RB 2s or Pure "Stage 2" turbos. I just have to wait for my OE's to fail so I can guilt free buy them (and convice the wife at the same time it was NECESSARY)

Recommend reaching out to Rob (RB Turbos) directly. 2's sound like the best fit for what you are after, but worth it to get with him and see what he has to say.

I asked Rob for a recommendation in almost the same words and RB Twos was the answer. But I encourage to reach out anyway, he's very knowledgeable.

He convinced me to use a proper blow off (tial q) and confirmed after turbos disassembly that my forge diverter valves were not adequate (due to compressor side damage)

I agree with the RB Twos. Running them and they are holding up well. With support mods and some e85 was able to dyno over 500whp on a dyno jet.

I'm also looking for changing my turbos, the ones on the car finally give up after 150k km. I found some RB turbos, first hybrid edition, the ones with the hot side welded, second hand, but I dont know if I can rebuild them somwhere in Europe. My car has DP, FMIC, AC and MHD stage 2+

I run RB Ones, have been for 4 years, been solid. Still maintains low end torque and pulls hard to red line. If I were to do it again, I would go with RB Two's though as I am maxing out my RB One's to their full potential.

RB OEM billet turbos here. Along with inlets, IC, DPs and Turbosmart kompact diverters. My goal was stock or better E9x M3 power. Not sure it'll get on dyno, but the power feels great and responsiveness of the turbos is amazing. Been working through some tuning challenges - a surging or pulsating feeling upon WOT that diminishes with increasing RPM, seems to have to do with dialing WGDC. I think between the inlets and the turbos, they are just really, really efficient so making the tuning a bit different from just tuning an OE setup with IC and DPs. We'll get there. But I am extremely happy with it for what I wanted to do. And since it's a xdrive, even if I thought about something bigger/more power, I have a lot of reason to not want to go there....haha.
