E91 Rear arch rust

Today I noticed some rust starting to form on the rear arches on both sides. It hasn’t caused any bubbling yet but want to tackle it sooner rather than later.

What’s the best thing to do?

Thanks

Sand, rust prevention coating, paint. It's not fun, but it's kinda the only way that's within reason. Then, in a few salt-exposed years, it'll come back. But hopefully not that soon.

Best thing to do is have the arch liners out and look at the extent of the rust the other side.
Literally just had mine off this morning and it's very bad news.
Mine only look slightly worse then yours too.
You also won't believe the amount of shite and grime those awful carpet like arch liners hold and hide.

Sadly they're going to need doing are mine, and with a rebuilt engine on 50k I dont have much of a choice.

Blimey, that doesn’t sound good.

Do you have any idea on the costs of getting them sorted?

I declare not even go and ask.
Dont think I'd get any change out of 1200 quid if welding was required.
