Would be spark plugs fix this N55 misfire?

I have been recently having some misfire issues and just wanted to know if that 2EF7 code is something bad ?

Google'd came up with
Quote:
BMW N55 code 2EF7 indicates a fault with the "Map Thermostat Activation," meaning the DME (engine computer) cannot control the thermostat's heating element, often resulting in a, stuck-open thermostat, or faulty wiring. Common symptoms include the cooling fan running at maximum speed, potential overcooling, or delayed engine warmup.

my thoughts are that plugs would not fix the issue. maybe coil packs, but if me, I would truly not want to damage the cats, they cost more than the value of the vehicle to replace at this time...

Most of us own code readers, they come in a great range of capabilities and prices. The first thing I would do for a misfire is to inspect the coils and spark plugs for oil. Don't just assume it's a spark plug or coil and replace everything, you're not doing anything but throw parts at it without investigating the actual problem.

Are N55 still suffering from fuel injector and HPFP problems? Maybe HPFP failed from old age?

I was thinking the same thing since it did throw out a rail pressure code but not fully sure I might have to give it a try

I was thinking that but I’m not with a lot of options since I only could fix it since it’s my only source of transportation

I actually did do a cat delete and have a down pipe so I’m not sure about any other cat that could be on the car

If you're tuned you should automatically have fresh coils and plugs at all times. There are just too many variables to be running sub par hardware and it's impossible to diagnose when there is deferred maintenance on top of issues.

That being said, none of this seems to be a spark plug issue. Pull them out and see if any are full of fuel. This is much more likely an injector issue.

A 3 second google search points in the direction of a thermostat issue for that last code.
