power steering whirring

2011 328ix. Sometimes, not al the time, when driving slow, and turning the wheel it makes a whirring sound, which I presume is the power steering pump or something related. I have replaced the reservoir/filter and new fluid, noise continues. Something to worry about or standard 14 year old BMW noise?

Is it similar to the noise that you hear when you turn the wheel all the way to one side and keep it there (this noise should be somewhat louder than during regular driving)? If so, it's probably normal pump noises.
