DME locked? ISO some assistance

Just bought an 07 335i 140k 6mt, figured I'd buy mhd to read my codes/flash etc. when it came in I kept getting the message "cannot connect with DME" so I messaged the guy and he said if I pay him an extra 500$ he'll flash it back to OEM file and that until then the MHD won't work. Not paying for sh*t lmao is there anything I can do? I don't have experience with coding/flashing. But as of right now I have a K+DCAN usb OBD. Any help will be more then appreciated

First of all he's a ****** because it costs him $0 to flash it back to stock if he owns the MHD licence for the car. You can also read the codes with a stock tune that has nothing to do with it. Something is not communicating you need a better scanner

No kidding, and yeah I Figured I'd just need an actual scanner but I did use the orange wireless MHD OBD , Is there anyway I'd be able to tune the car? Or will that not be possible,

Not at all clear from your description what the issue is. However, yes, you will be able to tune the car.

To begin with, download and install BMW Standard Tools from Bimmergeeks.net on your laptop. It's free and and it's factory software. None of the phone apps have all the capabilities provided in BMW Standard Tools.

There are tons of tutorials about how to use BMW Tools; INPA, NCSExpert, WinKFP, Tool32. These diagnostic and updating tools are an essential resource.

Then use WinKFP in comfort mode to return your DME to factory stock. Note: factory stock is different than MHD stock.

Then you can buy an MHD license and tune package and install it.

from the MHD website:

I bought an MHD Tuned Car, Is it now locked to previous owner?

You can purchase and activate your own Licenses, VIN numbers are not locked to Email accounts

Makes me scratch my head a little because I can't even read my codes with the MHD App + wireless MHD obd. All it says is "cannot connect with DME make sure OBD is plugged in and connected to the wifi network" which I've tried various different approaches,

Just a thought, but can the car have JB4 installed and the map on? If JB4 is on, you can't really get any connections from OBD.

That's the thing, genuinely not sure what this guy used on the car. MHD/JB4/etc I'm clueless, all he said was he'd flash it back to OEM file if I payed him
