Quiet muffler

Is there a muffler that's as quiet or quieter than stock that doesn't weigh 1000 pounds like the stock one?

The stock muffler without the golf t mod is already very quiet.

1000 pounds? lol, sounds like a hair brained weight reduction scheme going on.

Why would you want to make your car sound worse than the stock muffler?

Worse =/= quiet.

I'm going to muffler delete the driver side, And want to keep the passenger side quiet. If I'm going to be modifying the passenger side anyway I'd like to do a nicer looking, lighter and equally quiet muffler

The stock exhaust system is already quiet with the valve active.

I've only got the Golf T mod, which is still fairly muted. If the op wants the sound of a vacuum cleaner, he bought the wrong car.

Functionally, that is what I'm doing. And I'm aware of this setup. I've actually wanted to do this since I bought the car. But $750, they must be high

You're going to need a custom one. You can start with the Vrsf or any aftermarket exhaust and then have a shop add in a few resonators and make it a single exit. Doubt it will be quite than stock, but that's the only way to really do it.

You can also hack up the stock exhaust to achieve the same thing but with a new muffler section.

Best bet would be something like the eBay HKS knockoff (Beluga, M2, etc.) and then weld in some Magnaflow mufflers midstream or at least Vibrant resonators. Nothing's going to be quieter than stock but that would be significantly lighter and only moderately louder.

If quiet is very important to you (and I get it!) I'd lose the weight in the wheels and leave the OEM exhaust

Sounds like it's not worth the small gains. So I'm just going to basically duplicate the valvetronic, but for cheaper!

I'd guess that the stock mufflers would be similar enough to not be worth messing with.
