Managed to break the plastic connector of the vacuum hose to vacuum canister
Basically the title. Yeah, I know.
I know my car isn't getting any vacuum right now since I no longer have any wastegate rattle (at least there's that, haha) My question is: Car is no longer safe to drive, right? After my fuckup I just started the car briefly and did a couple of light revving (no lights on the dash). Is this fine? My intuition tells me that now the car at worst can make so much pressure since the wastegate is no longer controlled that it can literally kill the engine. But I might be wrong ![]() What are your thoughts? Have a good one guys |

Opposite effect, no vacuum results in the gates staying open thus the car won't make boost. You'll eventually get an 30ff code but other than that not much risk.
You could also bypass the canister completely using a splice, car will drive fine without it.

It won't kill the engine, you just won't make enough boost and will likely end up with boost leak/30FF eventually. |
