Wind deflector E93

I just sold my (loved)m BMW335i - E93 - and have the OEM wind deflector for sale - very good condition of course, with original case etc.. etc... - Does anyone have an idea where best to sell it and what price to ask for it? [I see a lot of different prices when I google the wind deflector, but many do not appear to be original. I believe an OEM one costs more than $800.]
Or maybe this forum has a specific 'for sale' section?
Thanks for helping.
Paul

Could you provide an approximate asking price for the wind deflector? I am interested, as they are quite expensive in Canada, often exceeding $3,000 from BMW dealerships.

Hi skghd1:
From what I've seen, OEM sell for less than half that in the US - around $800 new. Mine is in excellent condition. The price I was thinking of was US$400 + shipping costs. [I don't know how much shipping would be to BC.] [BTW, I'm Canadian but love FL weather!]. I don't know if you have any arrangement with Fedex or UPS and can send me a prepaid label (?). The weight is 7lbs, so, with (2lbs?) packaging, that would be just over/around 4kg. I could declare whatever reasonable value you wished as it would have to go through Cdn customs. -- Let me know ... It's a great addition for your car. Once you have it, you will wonder how you've lived without it, particularly in cool weather. And you can leave it installed while you raise the roof or have the roof 'up'.

Hi skghk1 - In case you wish to contact me directly, you can do so by e-mail at pjc819@yahoo.com. It might be best because I'm having difficulty finding my way back to my post(s).
All best,
Paul

$400? I didn't know they were that expensive, I should sell mine!

Every time I try using it I end up with rear passengers and need to fold it up and put it in the trunk.

I thought the price of $400 would be fair since it is <50% that of new OEM. [There are less expensive non-OEM ones, but I don't know the quality or whether they fold for storage in the trunk like the OEM. And I usually prefer OEM] From what I have seen, <50% for an excellent condition used item is a fair price, generally speaking.
As an aside, I was looking at the price of a wind deflector for the Lexus LC500 convertible, which is smaller and 'simpler' (no folding), like the E46 wind deflector - - same construction as the BMW wind deflector, and the price at a Lexus dealer was US$1750 but i saw one said to be OEM at $800.

Do they do much? I don't have one but just drive with the windows up when it seems a bit blowy.

They absolutely work, and are nice for people with long hair or not wearing a hat. I've driven on the highway with my deflector and windows down and it's a nice calm pocket of stable air in the cabin.

My only issue is that I often have a passenger or two (kids) in the back. Sure it's foldable, but the trunk space is already limited. There's no convenient place to store it in the car when not in use.

They do A LOT. I can drive at 5c with the roof down, deflector up, and not be too cold.

Deflector down I'll probably die, at least my neck will.

Thanks, interesting. I see there is a permanent Perspex option that bolts in between to the rear head rest. Seems to be better but not as good as the big net (very ugly) looking thing. Agree with boot space. I put a space saver in there and think the shopping will be going in the back seat if you drive home topless.

Does side windows up matter? I have been thinking of getting on but if my tops down my window are down.

Yes it it's actually cold out (like just above freezing) you will only do well with roof down, windows up, deflector up, and heating on. Then you're still comfortable. Any of those not up and you'll be too cold.

Another vote for the magic of wind deflectors... we had one on our E30 and it was AMAZING! Driving on cold days with the top down is the best!
