Question How cooked am I?

Hey yall, long time reader first time poster. Apollogies in advance if the formatting is werid, I've never really used forums before. This post will basically just be a repost of my 2 reddit threads pertaining to my car as I wanted to get the opinions of a different group.
The car is a 2009 E92 335i Xdrive with ~175.000 miles.

Back in August I was taking a coworker home after work and as I was pulling onto the highway I decided to do a little pull as he’s never ridden in the car and I wanted to show off.
This of course backfires in spectacular fashion as when I go to shift from 3rd to 4th gear, I miss and hit 2nd, fully release the clutch and the motor which was at 7k rpm in 3rd is now at ~8400 rpm in 2nd.
I immediately clutch back in but the damage has been done. Dash lights up like a christmas tree and the motor shuts off immediately. Does crank, but no longer starts.
No visibly obvious holes in the block, no puddle under the car of any fluids. Read the codes and this is what came up.

Finally got the time to crack open the motor and take a look at the carnage and oh boy is it rough. Timing chain assembly and the intake half of the valve train appear to be just fine, but the exhaust side is mangled.
I was able to use a magnet and freely pull out 7/12 lifters, and have managed to located the other 5, but they’re either oriented in a way that I can’t get them out or they’re pinned under the cam.
None of the valves themselves appear to be damaged, but the head is pretty chewed up in some spots.

Just from these pictures, what would y’all recommend? Is the head itself too far gone and do I need a new one? Is a spun crank hub still a possibility?
Could I have bent a rod? Have y’all ever seen an N54 just spit out lifters before? Because I sure as hell haven’t. I’m just trying to field some opinions on what my options are.
I know a full motor swap would be the absolute safest bet, but could I get away with just swapping the head, valve train, cams, and timing?

Dang dude, sorry. They don't call 'em money shifts for no reason....

At least no rods decided they needed to see the light of day. Still could have potentially stretched a rod bolt or bent one. Big question for me is if any valves are bent from contacting pistons. More investigation needed, unfortunately.

What would you recommend doing for investigation? Obviously pulling the cams, but what else should I check? I’m really concerned about a bent rod, is the only good way to check just dropping the oil pan?

not worth the hassle imo of tearing open the motor to confirm how much damage there is, better off getting a used motor

Assuming the cylinder walls aren’t cooked, would I not be able to just rebuild this motor?
