Popping in car speakers

2007 328xi e92. Speakers have been popping for a while. I replaced the driver side subwoofer as it died recently, and it sounds amazing (HiFi) but I’m sooo tired of the popping sound I get. I heard it was some SOS thing so I bought the cable , plugged it in, did nothing. FWIW, this car is the single hump so i don’t even have a phone or screen or nothing. Any help?

How old is your battery? Someone in the e46 forum said the problem was gone after a new battery was installed.

It's also possible the electronics in the head unit are failing.

Always check the Amplifier first for Water damage , in the cars that have amplifiers. This is the most common problem.
Make sure your battery and alternator voltage are good to .

You had a popping sound in your speakers and a driver side door soaking fixed it? My speakers soak sound amazing but it just pops even when the car is off

~2 weeks ago the speakers sounded terrible and had no bass. Ending up self diagnosing && guessing it was my driver side subwoofer (I also replaced the amp first but that didn’t fix it) . Replaced it and now my speakers sound like how it was before / even better.
I’ve had the car since September 2025 and it’s the same weird popping sound I deal with
