Aftermarket LEDs flickering after coding
Hello
I just installed some aftermarket headlights on my 2011 328i. The OEM ones were halogens, and the new ones I bought have LED turn signals. On bimmercod,e I coded in the LED conversion, thinking it would fix the issue of the two front turn signals flickering when on. This did not work, and I am unsure where to go from here. I appreciate any help, as I really don't want to go through the hassle of returning them. They are a nice upgrade to my stock lights, but I just don't want to deal with the constant flickering. Thanks. this is the link for the lights if it helps at all: https://www.carid.com/spyder/driver-...eid=1317423425 |

Flickering of the LED turn signals is often caused by wrong PWM setting of the output. It should be set to 100%. Other settings accompanying LED conversion is activating of the using the output for LED signal and turning OFF cold monitoring of the affected signals.
Compare the backup and actual setting of FRM module (I suppose FRM2 or FRM3 for 2011 E9x) and check whether it is done completely. If not, set all those settings to intended values and check turn signals behaviour again. Search for those functions in TRC from NCS Expert coding program: KALTUEBERWACHUNG_BLK_V (nicht_aktiv) - cold monitor front turn signals in FRM2 PWM_BLK_V (wert_03) - PWM of front turn signals in FRM2 LED_BLINKER_VORNE (aktiv) - activation of use of LED for front turn signals in FRM2 or KALTUE_FRA_V_M1_13_M2_40 (nicht_aktiv) - cold monitor front turn signals in FRM3 PWM_FRA_V (wert_02) - PWM of front turn signals in FRM3 LED_BLINKER_VORNE (aktiv) - activation of use of LED for front turn signals in FRM3 Double voltage setting for the outputs is not affected, as I do not know, how exactly it should be modified. Double voltage settings is activated for the LED or 100% PWM outputs (Xenon units), but I do not know, how it works. Last edited by KamilFKH; 02-01-2026 at 02:38 PM.. Reason: Double voltage info added. |
