Maybe I'm just lucky, but I never had a single problem with my OEM Delphi coils on my car, and it was making around 580-ish HP at 25psi (before the piston cracked).

OEM B58 coils can be found for $26 at some retailers. The price of the kit also depends on which one you buy.
Mileage may vary on the reliability of the stock ignition setup. B58 plugs are an option with my setup. It also works perfectly with the stock style plugs.
So the price of the kits compared to new S55 Eldor coils is really just the cost of the kit which is ~$235 to 320 depending on the one you choose.
The B58 coil is a better setup than stock with more spark energy. Each car owner can choose if they want/need it for themselves based on their setup.
