When it's not under boost, wastegates are open. If you force the turbos to be always on boost, by keeping the wastegates closed at all times, its a surefire way to blow your turbos quickly. I've been running 20psi for some time on a custom map, obviously trying to run 20psi all the time would have blown the turbos asap.

It doesn’t look like that you are aware that on a turbo car one only make boost when he floors the car, valve close or not from factory.
Otherwise all the cars that come with the wastegate close from factory (your way of thinking) would make full boost at idle.
