Are the turbos from bmw of inferior quality than all the turbo cars since the 70’s that came from factory with the wastegate closed?
It doesn't look like you are aware, on the N54 turbos build boost when Wastegate is closed opposite to other vehicles.

When it's not under boost, wastegates are open. If you force the turbos to be always on boost, by keeping the wastegates closed at all times, its a surefire way to blow your turbos quickly. I've been running 20psi for some time on a custom map, obviously trying to run 20psi all the time would have blown the turbos asap.
